Welcome from the MillBridge Marlins! We are very excited to have your team at our pool. We hope you enjoy your time here as much as we do! 

1. Address – We are located at 1401 MillBridge Parkway, Waxhaw, NC 28173. We are located off of Kensington Road near Kensington Elementary School. 

2. Parking - There are plenty of parking spaces (184) in the pool parking lot. We have asked our families to not park in the lot to allow spaces for the visiting team. In the event our parking lot is full, please only park along MillBridge Parkway on the side of the road OPPOSITE the clubhouse. DO NOT block driveways in the neighborhood. There will be no parking signs posted and we will have an off-duty Waxhaw police officer on hand to assist with parking and traffic. 

3. Arrival Time- Visiting Team Warm-ups are from 5:35-5:50 pm. You are welcome to arrive any time after 5:15 pm. Before that, we will be busy setting up for the swim meet. 

4. Team Location – Your team will be set up to the left of the clubhouse which will be on the pool entrance side. Someone will be on-site to greet you and show you where to sit. We suggest that you bring your own chairs, but we will have some available on your side as well. We do not allow parents, other than those volunteering, behind our blocks in the staging area to limit congestion and confusion. The Clerk of Course is located behind the starting blocks, in front of the planter area. Additionally, please do not sit in front of the clubhouse area near the steps that go up to the clubhouse either as that will be where timers need to be located for certain events. 

5. Concessions – We will have a few concession options to choose from during the event. We encourage our families to purchase dinner at visiting pools to support your fundraising efforts and we hope you will do the same for ours! Waxhaw Creamery - Breezeway/Entrance - Cash & Venmo Food Truck – OooWee BBQ in the Clubhouse Parking Lot with a selection of BBQ including their famous BBQ sundae and wide variety of side dishes. MillBridge Marlins Snack Bar/Concession Stand - Accepts both Cash & Venmo - The snack bar/concession stand will serve Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, and Hot Dogs as well as Chips, Candy, Snacks, Gatorade, Soda, and Water 

6. Pool Rules - ONLY THE LAP POOL IS OPEN FOR OUR MEETS. The remainder of the pool, including the kiddie pool, lazy river, and slide, is CLOSED for the duration of the meet. No Glass or Alcohol is permitted at the pool 

7. Diving - We have blocks and will utilize them. If your swimmers are not comfortable diving off them then they are welcome to dive off the side or start in the water. We also will utilize “dive overs”. Please instruct your swimmers finishing at the starting blocks to stay in the water until the next heat/event begins (unless it’s backstroke). 

8. Clerk of Course - Located behind the starting blocks. We ask all our swimmers to write their last names on the right side of their upper back. It helps the Clerks see which kids are missing. 

9. Computer – The computer area is located up the stairs when you are facing the clubhouse from the pool, on the left. 

10. Meet Changes - Our computer operators prefer to not make changes once they arrive at the pool. If you have a no show in individual events, don’t worry about changing it in the system, they will just be scratched. If you have a no show in a relay and you need to put in a sub, as long as it’s another swimmer in that age group, don’t worry about changing it in the system. Just be sure to get the ribbons to the correct swimmers. 

11. Restrooms – They are located in the breezeway when you first enter the pool, on the right. We do not have showers in the restroom, however, we do have outdoor showers located next to the lifeguard house. 

12. Weather – Thunder – we are out of the pool for 30 minutes. Lightning – we have to clear the pool deck. Visiting team should “evacuate” to the Mill House (we will show you upon arrival). 

13. Timers - We will have a Timers meeting 20 minutes before the start of the meet. This will be behind the check-in table near the entrance to our kiddie pool. 

14. Stroke and Turn Judges - We will have a meeting 20 minutes before the start of the meet - also by the entrance to the kiddie pool. 

15. Volunteers - We switch our volunteers after event 32 (End of Backstroke and before IM).
